Our Livestock Distribution Program
At AFI, livestock farming is a cornerstone of our mission to build resilient, self-reliant communities. Through our community based livestock distribution model, we provide selected households with farm animals that serve as both a source of food and a means of income. Our approach not only promotes food security but also creates a cycle of giving that expands the impact year after year.
200 Goats
1 Goat per Household
200 Cows
1 Cow per Household
400 Pigs
2 Pigs per Household
400 Chickens
2 Chickens per Household
How the model works:
- For example, 2 pigs may give birth to 10 piglets in a year.
- 5 piglets remain with the original family for their own sustainability.
- The other 5 piglets are returned to Akasi Farm Initiative.
- AFI then distributes these animals to 2 new families, and 1 is retained by AFI to keep the cycle growing and sustainable.
This model ensures that the benefits continue to multiply, reaching more families over time and supporting long-term community development.
Livestock Products for Sale
In addition to distribution, we also raise and sell livestock directly from our demonstration farm. This helps fund our community programs and offers quality, ethically-raised animals to local buyers.
Our animals are raised using sustainable, ethical practices that reflect our commitment to environmental care and animal welfare. Whether you’re a farmer, a local restaurant, or a community member looking for quality livestock, we welcome your support.
Our livestock initiative isn’t just about giving, it’s about building systems that allow communities to support themselves. By encouraging families to raise, breed, and pass on animals, we create a ripple effect of empowerment, food security, and economic growth.
